Sombra is making music with the goal of finding a balance between chaos and beauty. Driving inspiration from the 90s industrial electronic sounds of Nine Inch Nails and Depeche Mode, Sombra experiments with catchy vocal melodies, distorted beats, heavy synths and guitar sounds to create a powerful blend of organized mayhem. The art stems from the obsessive mind of lead vocalist and songwriter Matthew Dessner, whose emotionally-charged lyrics speak to a collective frustration of fitting in to societal pressures.
